Vote for Edenbrooke and A Tasty Carrot
Dear readers,
I owe you a great BIG thank you! Because of your ratings (and overall awesomeness), Edenbrooke has been nominated for a Goodreads Choice award as one of the top 15 romance novels of 2012! Now, we are clearly the underdogs. But that's okay! We're tough, right? We're tenacious! We can do great things!
And to help motivate you to get the word out and get your friends to vote too, I am going to dangle what I think is a very tantalizing carrot. I have deleted scenes from Edenbrooke. Scenes that are flirty and yummy and just didn't make it into the final cut because they didn't move the plot forward. I am willing to give you one of these deleted scenes if Edenbrooke makes it into the semi-final round of the Goodreads Choice award. But that means I need your help--so facebook it, tweet it, or shout it from the rooftops. We only have two days left to make it happen! Initial voting ends on Tuesday. Election day.
Go here to vote. And you can copy and paste this link to share it on your social media accounts: http://www.goodreads.com/choiceawards/best-romance-books-2012
Thank you! Now, in the name of more flirting between Philip and Marianne, go vote!

I like carrots. I already voted earlier today. And then told all my friends to vote. Does that count? ;)

DeletePlease tell me I am not going crazy. I have read Edenbrooke 4 times since I downloaded it from deseret bookshelf a while ago. I just finished it again tonight and am wondering if the ending has changed. It used yo have one of my favorite lines from Marianne when Phillip says that he is thinking about the honeymoon while kissing her neck and she says so am I. Then he just laughs at what she revealed. I loved that ending! I just finished it again and the ending is different. Did this happen or am I going crazy. Please let me know.
ReplyDeleteDarbi, you are not going crazy. :) Here is what happened: the honeymoon line was in my original manuscript. During the editing process, some people thought it was out of character, so I changed it. I also changed other things during the editing process. But...here's the crazy part...someone at the publisher's house published an early, only partly edited version of Edenbrooke as the e-book. (You can imagine my dismay!!!) It was discovered probably 6 weeks after publication, when a reader read both the e-book and the paperback version and noticed the difference. The publisher fixed things, which changed it on everyone's electronic device. Now both versions of the book match. So...there you have it. I personally liked that line too, because it showed a maturing in Marianne and a progression in their relationship. But I can also see the point that it's kind of shocking to have that come out at the very end. So, to sum up, no. You are not going crazy. :) I'm glad you liked Edenbrooke enough to read it 4 times.
DeleteWow thank you for the fast response. I wasn't expecting that! I am glad I am not going crazy too :) I have to say I agree with you that it showed the change in Marianne and it made the ending more real for me cause I think that would be honestly what was really going through her mind after she finally recognized what all of those heated moments meant that she had felt earlier. Thank you for the amazing beautiful book. Even after 4 times it still makes me laugh cry and smile. I am glad I got to read that ending though. I will be watching for your next book. Thanks again Julianne!
